A vote was taken regarding alternative proposed playoff schedules. One vote per team. The vote was decisively in favour of a format that features:
-- 20 game regular season ending with the published games of February 11. |
| 2. |
Regarding Tie-Breaker Rules:
Regular season -- one addition (#4):
Playoff Round Robin -- MOSTLY SAME AS REGULAR SEASON: |
| 3. |
Regarding the semi-final games, the existing rule is: "Should the teams remain tied at the end of the regular play the teams will play one 15 minute non-stop time period of sudden death hockey. Should the teams remain tied, each team will rotate through their line-up one player at a time taking penalty shots until after each round of shots, one team has scored and the other hasnt." |
| 4. |
Regarding the final game the proposal was: One 60 minute game (three 20 minute stop-time periods). Flood between periods. If game tied at the end of 60 minutes, the existing rule says: "...a 5-minute rest will be allowed and will be followed by continuous 15-minute non-stop sudden death periods as long as time allows. If the game is still tied after the overtime, then the teams will play shoot out. The rules for shoot out are the same as stated [for the semi-final game, above]." |
| 5. | Team Captains will continue to prepare ratings of each player in the league. These ratings will be used after the end of the season to help try and balance the teams. |
| 6. | The team captains will discuss among themselves any possibilities of immediately helping to balance the league. |
| 7. |
League Rule #15 will be strictly enforced: Any use of a non-member player in a game results in the forfeiture of the game by the offending team. The accepted exceptions are that waiting list players may participate if both captains agree that it will be helpful to establish a rating for the waiting list player, and that the Rules Committee protocol regarding goalies remains in effect: "Goalie substitutes are made with consideration first to the league goalies playing that night, then the wait list goalies. No exceptions and no bypassing due to calibre." The key point is that if a league member participates by playing for a team other than their own, it can only be on the understanding that the team they are playing for has defaulted the game because they don't have enough players. If a game has been defaulted, the score is recorded as 1-0 and no statistics from that game count. However misconducts will be considered if they arise during play. |
